Medicare Supplement Plans

Explore Medicare Supplement Plans on your own.

Please note, Medicare Supplement Plans are designed to work with Original Medicare ONLY, furthermore one can not have a Medicare Supplement Plan and a Medicare Advantage Plan at the same time.

Remember Original Medicare does not cover Medications, except thru Part B which is usually only in outpatient centers such as infusions, and chemotherapy. It does not cover Dental, Hearing or Vision. Most folks who remain with Original Medicare purchase a Medicare Supplement Policy along with a stand alone Prescription Drug Plan and a separate Dental, Vision and Hearing Plan.

Health Insurance, Medicare and ACA Federal Market Place Plans

Plan Type with Pro's and Con's

Some of these plans require an election period, Currently we are in Open Enrollment for Medicare Advantage.

Other than that talk to me about qualifying for a "Special Election Period".

Medicare Advantage or Part C

What it is:

Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are all-in-one alternatives to Original Medicare, offered by private insurance companies. These plans include Medicare Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical) coverage and often come with additional benefits like prescription drug coverage, vision, dental, and wellness programs. Medicare Advantage is available to anyone enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B, but coverage and costs vary by location.

Pro's and Con's of Medicare Advantage

Pros:
✔️ Often includes extra benefits like dental, vision, and hearing coverage
✔️ Many plans have low or $0 monthly premiums
✔️ Out-of-pocket cost limits provide financial protection

Cons:
❌ Limited provider networks—may require seeing in-network doctors
❌ Requires referrals for specialists in some plans, and pre-authorizations for medications and some services
❌ Copays and coinsurance can add up depending on usage

Carriers I offer:

I offer Humana, United HealthCare, Peak Health, Aetna, WellCare, The Health Plan, Devoted Health, Molina Healthcare, CareSource (coming soon), HighMark BC/BS, and Anthem BC/BS. I can help you compare these options and find the best fit for your health care needs and budget.

Medicare Supplement or MediGap Plans

What it is:

Medicare Supplement Insurance, or Medigap, is a type of private health insurance designed to cover out-of-pocket costs not covered by Original Medicare, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. It is ideal for individuals who want predictable healthcare costs and broader provider access without network restrictions. However, it is illegal to have both a Medigap plan and a Medicare Advantage plan at the same time.

Pros & Cons of Medigap:

Pros:
✔️ Helps cover Medicare out-of-pocket costs
✔️ No network restrictions—see any doctor that accepts Medicare
✔️ Guaranteed renewable coverage (as long as premiums are paid)

Cons:
❌ Monthly premiums required in addition to Medicare Part B
❌ Does not include prescription drug coverage (requires separate Part D plan)
❌ No extra benefits like vision, dental, or wellness programs

Carriers I offer:

I offer Medigap plans from top-rated carriers, including Liberty Bankers, Cigna, Mutual of Omaha, Aflac, Humana, UnitedHealthcare, and Aetna. Let’s find the best plan for your needs!

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans - Part D

What it is:

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (Part D) help cover the cost of prescription medications and are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. Anyone enrolled in Medicare Part A and/or Part B is eligible to enroll in a Part D plan. These plans can be purchased as a standalone option to complement Original Medicare or a Medicare Supplement plan, or they may be included in some Medicare Advantage plans.

Pro's and Con's of PDP's

Pros:
✔️ Helps reduce prescription drug costs
✔️ Wide range of plans to fit different medication needs and budgets
✔️ Protection against high-cost prescriptions

Cons:
❌ Monthly premiums and potential deductibles apply
❌ Formularies (covered drug lists) vary by plan and may change annually, some medications require pre-authorization
❌ Late enrollment penalty if you don’t sign up when first eligible

Carriers I offer:

I offer Medicare Part D plans from Aetna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare. Let’s find the best plan to fit your prescription needs!

ACA, Federal Market Place Plans (ObamaCare)

What it is:

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) Federal Marketplace Health Plans, commonly known as Obamacare, provide comprehensive health insurance coverage for individuals and families who do not have access to employer-sponsored insurance or other government programs like Medicare or Medicaid. These plans are available to U.S. citizens and legal residents, with open enrollment periods and special enrollment opportunities for qualifying life events. Federal subsidies (premium tax credits and cost-sharing reductions) are available to eligible individuals based on income, making coverage more affordable.

Pro's and Con's of ACA:

Pros:
✔️ No denials for pre-existing conditions
✔️ Essential health benefits included (preventive care, prescription drugs, hospitalization, etc.)
✔️ Federal subsidies can significantly lower costs for eligible individuals

Cons:
❌ Monthly premiums and deductibles can still be costly without subsidies
❌ Limited provider networks depending on the plan
❌ Coverage is only available during open enrollment or special qualifying events

Carriers I offer:

I offer ACA Marketplace plans from CareSource, Anthem, Highmark, and Molina Healthcare. Let’s find the best plan to meet your healthcare needs and budget!

Dental, Vision & Hearing Plans

What it is:

Standalone Dental, Vision & Hearing Insurance plans provide essential coverage for individuals and families looking to manage the costs of routine and unexpected care. These plans are available to anyone, regardless of age, and can be purchased separately from other health insurance. They typically cover services like dental cleanings, fillings, dentures, eye exams, prescription glasses, contact lenses, hearing tests, and hearing aids, depending on the plan.

Pro's & Con's of Dental, Vision & Hearing Plans:

Pros:

✔️ No need to be enrolled in a health insurance plan to qualify
