DSNP: Dual Special Needs Plan

DSNP Plans per State

A DSNP (Dual-Eligible Special Needs Plan) is a type of Medicare Advantage plan designed specifically for individuals eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid. These plans provide comprehensive healthcare coverage, including:

  • Medicare Benefits: Covers hospital (Part A) and medical services (Part B).
  • Medicaid Coordination: Helps cover costs like premiums, copays, and services Medicare doesn’t fully cover.
  • Extra Benefits: Often includes vision, dental, hearing, over-the-counter allowances, and transportation.
  • Low or No Cost: Minimal out-of-pocket expenses due to Medicaid assistance.

DSNPs aim to simplify care and provide tailored benefits for low-income individuals with complex healthcare needs.
